Instant Gratification or IG

To each his own - Millenials today are all about Texting and Facebooking to the point of fear - that not using their digits constantly may render them extinct - thence the urge to IM and therefore seek IG; Large swath of the consumer society seeks IG through conspicuous consumption as economists like to define it - boredom in varying degrees leads to a certain occupation that distracts and provides temporary relief thence the need to spend w/o wallet strength understanding; Leasing vehicles to short lived marriages and subsequent annulments to botox to other vanities are all symptomatic of IG gone wild IMHO; To me one of the most poignant moments in terms of IG will always be finding a clean potty to do the business when nature calls!

Miscellaneous thoughts that keep me awake during the day (I sleep well at night - thank you)

1. I am very into Spiritual Healing - the stronger the spirits the more I heal 2. I want to meet the folks that coined the following word associations - a. Raw Sewage b. Dodge RAM (among choice oxymorons this is up there) c. Outer Space d. Meltdown (and why particularly there is no Meltup?) e. Good Daycare 3. Is a 'Slap on the Back' better than a 'Pat on the Back'? 4. If Mideast (Jerusalem and general Arab Territories) is out there then how is the Midwest (Michigan and other Redneck Territories) over here? Should it not be adjacent but to the west of the Mideast? i.e. Europe? 5. Lastly - what's with the Q that people (somewhat famous) keep getting asked - "What keeps you up at night?" I say that is presumptuos. Lot of people work the night shift and are expected to be awake - as to asking that question to those that do not work at night is dumb - they likely are fast asleep during night and if not they are ill - they need to rest

Whale of a Time!

Last Saturday the family went out to Monterey Bay in Central California to do something that the family had earlier attempted but not been successful at fulfilling - WHALE WATCH. Earlier expeditions in various locations in the Pacific had yielded no results from the tip of the Baja Peninsula through the Hawaiian boating trip or the venture out of Puget Sound off the Seattle coastline as well as a trip out of Anchorage, Alaska - them mammals just did not want to be seen. This time we decided to try the shallow waters off the Monterey Peninsula. And we struck Gold, Jerry Gold! As in a wonderful performance by a pod (not to confuse with the 'i' gizmo ubiquitously adorning every youth in the 15 to 30 age group) a collection of these stately beast - three of them including one calf. The ones we encountered on this trip were 'Killer Whales' or 'Orcas' and they were ecstatic or annoyed or something to see boats with 2 legged mammals staring at them with open m

Dawg gon it!

What's with the partial discrimination by the local 'parks and recreation' folks in my city? I am certainly feeling not recreated. There is a new trend to invest dollars into DOG PARKS where the social mingling and dating kicks off both for the animal and its owner. What about those of us who do not like Dogs - own Dogs - or any other creature on more than 2 legs (or for that matter on 2 legs that does not use a toilet)? I am sick and tired of these people with dogs that have an exclusive club to visit but can also take liberties with letting their pet loose in a 'community park' which technically allows for all forms of life to 'enjoy and recreate' in the surrounds. Even more annoying is the habit of these dog owners to assume that everyone on this planet is somehow as enamored with their four legged critter as they are. Hence no leash in many cases - whence the animal takes off in complete abandon - not that it knows not to - with its owners parta
