Brown Motion

A three-day long weekend with very cold temperatures outside with snow on the hills at a 1,000 feet.  Made for an interesting picture with palm trees against a snow laden backdrop.  That also meant a couple of indoor activities that are my favorite. No brainer action movies with loud explosions and some taste bud titillating food every couple hours.  So with that in mind we started the evening festivity with the latest installment of the superhero girl from Sweden.  Originally imagined by now dead author Stieg Larsson the famous trilogy was continued in the form of other titles from another author.  Directed by an Uruguayan director this fourth installment is at times cliched but nonetheless mind bending stunt machine till the end. Starring a British actor called Claire Foy who by virtue of her goth like lifestyle does not say much but just hacks and attacks, is a force in the film.  The movie was accompanied by some warm Indian Samosa (flaky stuffe...

As in - What exactly is an innocent bystander?  I want to specifically listen to news involving guilty loiterers. Who exactly are these good Samaritans?  Where can I find the bad ones?  Is there a club that they hang out? What was Scorsese thinking?  I could not take the Silence for too long.  I gave it 30 min and the Occam's razor but switched off.  Too much for an atheist to handle. Same with Moonlight.  An Oscar worthy title, it could not hold my interest for more than 35 minutes.  I could not handle the repetitive mental beating.

Having returned from the roaring version (the latitudes in the southern hemisphere) recently  I find myself at a crossroads.  In terms of my present life spent on the planet as measured in years and if there is anything remotely roaring about that.  Not quite a mid life crisis it is a time to ponder what was but I have concluded /decided to focus on what could be.. Coincidentally happened on a couple of movies recently that shed some perspective on this very situation - in a kinda sorta way.. One from Hollywood called 'This is 40' starring Paul Rudd (who I recently became acquainted with - in some other role and who is one of the protagonist in the said title) with some woman who I have never seen before but played her part well of a vain somewhat spoilt mother of two (and happens to be the real life wife of the director - who I suspect also threw in his kids in a kid role to save dineros).  My fave (one of) comedian, Albert Brooks lent a nice supporting cas...
