Trying something new is the spice of life.  Heck - no spice no life. So this weekend I got to explore a few new things.  And I must say I hit four for four on it. I like to take transit into the city to check out spots to take pictures. SF can offer that if you have the patience and temperament for it. China town in the heart of the city bordering the financial district gives an opportunity to photograph a civilization calling another continent their home.  One of the larger expat communities of Chinese, the SF locale is bustling with fruit and veg vendors along with smells of fresh dim sum.  This picture is of the edge of the financial district showing the now for sale Transamerica pyramid.  I traveled a new Muni Route and got rewarded for it. Corporations entertain their staff in various ways to harness loyalty towards the company.  My employer recently raffled tickets to attend a Football game in our area between the SF 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. I got lucky and won a spot to attend.  Not just a ticket to the game but to be part of something special.  Many companies rent out large lounge areas with some of the best viewing in the house to host client get togethers as well as employee morale build events.  My employer, as one of the marquee sponsors of the NFL franchise has a suite in the stadium.  This being the relatively new Levi's stadium in Santa Clara. I got to it by driving to a local park and ride and then riding in on a VTA train to the stadium. July 4th weekend.  Time to unwind and enjoy the summer.  We did a trip to the city to soak the Vitamin D - a trip to Ocean beach to start (westernmost point of the city of San Francisco) followed by a visit to the Legion of Honor (an art museum occupying the estate of a former sugar baron). MUNI - a tram car to Ocean Beach Time for another sweep - sand often chokes up this roadway next to the beach Dunes at Ocean Beach Art museum also featured a special exhibit of the dead.  Specifically Egyptian mummies open to all parents and their children. Holocaust Memorial at the Legion of Honor Rodin's Thinker 1,000 year old Egyptian priest or what's left of him and his coffin Skinner Organ - amazing sound fills the museum rotunda at 4 pm when the organist uses his organs to tweak sound from this organ Then culminated with a visit to a live broadcast at a baseball stadium of the 'Opera Carmen' which was being played at a nearby theater....

Maroon ... staying up many hours after work sucking beverages with high OH (hydroxl) content, in the city (or accurately on a man made island) by the bay.  I had been invited as a guest to a local billionaire's software company celebration - an annual ritual that occurs on Treasure Island. This time to add to the evening frivolities he invited a pop band called Maroon 5 - apparently the in thing amongst a certain demographic the noise was lost on me and clearly sent the message that crowds were definitively not my thing. The view of the night skyline from a ferris wheel at the foot of the newly decorated bay bridge was awesome but the sea of humanity trying to wave and compete with the real deal right outside was somewhat retarded.
