What if such a concept was available now accurate to the minute?  Even those in the esteemed Silicon Valley seem unable to crack this one. Not so for a Belgian filmmaker who directed 'The Brand New Testament'.  Originally released in French this film is a dark comedy about something most humanity holds sacred and frankly is unable to or unwilling to discuss.  Death. The basic plot revolves around a family in Brussels, the father is God who along with his timid wife and a 12 year old daughter, Ea, live in an apartment.  God pretty much runs the show and does not allow anyone in his family to have a say in anything and neither is anyone allowed outside their apartment. Recent news about private sector investments (SpaceX et al) and expeditions in the exploration or visitation of space - that beyond earthly matter - got me thinking.  Uh Oh! The Centers for Disease Control or CDC has shut down.  CDC was a federal government funded body tasked with researching causes of disease and develop means and ways to control or eradicate the same in the interest of public health. It is a headline I am waiting to see any day now.  What with so many things going viral these days there is just no way to control the outbreak and no dollars to fund the research. Most viral situations these days are directly attributable to a bored public that has experienced never before seen levels of psychosomatic disorders. As early as 10 years ago people did not know of social media and tended to be social on occasion.  Now that social has taken on its own space in society there has been a mass diarrhea of opinions and videos and banter that is simply hard to fathom and speaks volumes of the decaying human brain. I was led to believe that I was born about this time of year over four decades or so ago.  There is this moment in time when one gets to ponder what their life has been and that day is their birthday.  That if memory serves can be an interesting exercise esp not knowing what the future holds because - 1.  No one knows what is round the corner; 2.  What is round the corner or at an angle from the corner may or may not be as exciting or worthwhile as what already has been. Now I am told that I was extracted from my mother's womb by an aunt who specialized in such matters and assigned a name which in Sanskrit (language) translates to the "Dawning".  A lot of things true to that nomenclature are still dawning on me so all is well there.
