Just like there are paradoxes about the idea of time travel I think there can be one about being Inept.
When you get frustrated about how many inept people have got into positions of apparent responsibility and power and that they seem oblivious to that you fail to recognize the irony. There is an inherent flaw in this line of thinking. That is that the inept are inept to recognize that they are inept. If they were not inept that would make them take notice of their own shortcomings and provide them a long term vision to rectify the short. However since this is not in the cards they continue to dwell and make more inept decisions to the detriment of the non inept. This is a bit like the Yossarian illogic from the famous Catch 22 book.
The propogation of the inept crowd also stems from earlier inepts who are responsible for hiring like minded individuals to build an inept society and this breeds like mosquitoes in a swamp. All their buzzing and spreading of ineptitude overwhelms the best of repellants and smoke. So the human race even after 20,000 or so years has not managed to weed out the genetic makeup that leads to ineptness is a testament to the survival of the inept.
Darwin and others who studied this as a science perhaps were short sighted in their conclusion about survival of the fittest. Although in another perspective fit is relative. Fit inept may have more staying power than a fit intellect. Law of large numbers has certainly favored the inept here. After all a lowly termite (or specifically a gang of termites) can bring down a million dollar house.
Today's world is hyper connected. I am not so sure what it means but you hear it a lot. It is probably hyper but not sure how connected it is. Sugar (fermented or not) is available in many ways than before and so getting hyper is easy. It is probably more a threat than cocaine since it is sold legally. And what is this connected stuff? Most people I encounter seem disconnected from reality. So going back to this assumption that we are connected there are subtle and no so subtle instances of how brands and companies and middle men try to portray someone - A linkedin profile for somebody working for X years at a place advertises to the connected network that so and so is CELEBRATING X years @ Such and Such Inc. Do we know if (s)he is celebrating or cringing? Perhaps a better way to portray will be - So and So LASTED X years @ such & such inc. Then it exhorts the readership to go ahead and congratulate them for this lasting effe...
