So we got to go see the taping of one of those 'music talent scouting shows' taping in the bay area. People actually came to audition from far away although this event was supposedly attracting local talent to come and get a spot on the show.
This show is somewhat popular on some TV station and is called the 'X Factor' where an unknown quantity is identified in the form of a new talent. The whole experience is more about people coming to watch Britney Spears in person (along with some other judges) who, herself is also a new talent in the form of one of four judges to rate the characters trying to make it on national television (and also win a grand prize and recording contract).
This taping was for four hours with bathroom breaks thrown in. It ended up being mostly a ridiculous noise fest with a bunch of millenials hooting and yelling and listening to mediocre folks wanting to get their next 'Call Me Maybe' effort recognized.
Maybe at best this was a 1 on a 1 to 50 scale in terms of appetizing music.
Not one for crowds I generally attended it so that my young one could experience this side of culture too...after all a lot of girls in this generation know a thing or two about these stars and can relate better than me to the awkward and incomprehensible music that is today's pop art.
I like chocolates. Godiva Dark with Almonds - not sure of the naked woman on the horse to be the icon of some choice cocoa based products but tastes good. Started in Belgium but now owned by some Turks. Cadburys - Fruit and Nut Milk Bars - awesome combination of dried fruit pieces along with a medley of nuts makes your toungue dance - started by a Brit now owen by Kraft USA. Lindt Hazelnut spheres - made by a Swiss confectioner are divine balls that melt in your mouth with a lingering nutty taste Ghirardelli Milk Crisp Squares - crunchy and light these milk squares are easy on the palate but pack some serious calories - all good I say! Originally founded by an Italian who moved around till he landed in SF Bay today also owned by the Swiss Lindt empire.
I almost wondered if you had entered the contest and sunaoed some desi beats to the judges!
ReplyDeleteI would have simply liked to beat the judges.
